16 Pictures Of The Universe That Will Make You Feel Incredibly Small

The world is so big that most people will never get the chance to see all of it. From the peak of the tallest mountains to the depths of the seas there is a lot out there to explore like:

  • The Pyramids
  • Stonehenge
  • The Great Wall of China

Human beings are responsible for creating some pretty awesome and pretty massive things, but I don’t think many of us stop to realize and really appreciate just how fascinating our earth is.

Our little orb of organic life floats around in a much much bigger picture that we can see nor do we want to all the time. Check out these 16 awesome universe photos that will make the Earth seem a little smaller.

1.) Do you ever imagine what it would be like to see the whole world at once? We’re thinking it would be kind of overwhelming.

2.) And to think that our planet is one of the smallest in our little neighborhood.

3.) That little spot is actually what North Korea would look like on Jupiter.

4.) Six Earths could fit just on Saturn’s rings and there would still be room.

Saturn’s rings

5.)This is what it would look like if Earth had rings like Saturn’s from different points of the world. We think it looks super mystical and gorgeous.

6.)When you picture a meteor shower or comets coming from the sky, chances are you’re picturing something about the size of an exercise ball give or take. Well, a probe was just landed on a comet and take a look at the size of it compared to L.A. Yikes!

7.) An Earthrise taken from the view of a spacecraft orbiting the moon. It’s so stunning.

8.) It’s hard to believe that this tiny spec is actually planet Earth from the view of Mars’ surface.

9.) Moving further away, we can still be seen from Saturn.

10.)Not as impressive from Neptune though, our moon no longer visible.

11.)Earth is so small compared to the Sun that the entire Sun could not fit in the photo! We do not want to imagine what would happen if the Earth really was this close to the Sun. In fact, there probably wouldn’t be an Earth if it got that close.

12.)If that doesn’t cause you to swear a bit, our Sun is actually pretty tiny compared to some other stars out there. Compared to the VY Canis Majoris, which is a billion times bigger than our sun. Seriously.

13.) If you can’t put that into perspective, get this. All the stars that we can see at night are confined to this small little space.

14.) Just a small section taken from Hubble telescope has thousands of galaxies and millions of stars. And some people still think we’re the only life forms to exist in this universe.

15.) For example the UDF 423 galaxy. This galaxy is 10 billion light years away meaning that you are looking back in time.

16.) Finally, just to put some perspective on Black Holes. The gravity within a black hole is so strong that no matter-including light-can get in or out leaving making them invisible.
